Electoral observation is a crucial activity of the European Union, aimed at promoting democracy, human rights, and the rule of law worldwide. It contributes to strengthening democratic institutions, fostering public trust in electoral processes, and preventing fraud, intimidation, and violence. Furthermore, it reinforces other critical objectives of the EU's foreign policy, particularly the consolidation of peace. A Babylonia photographer was selected to cover the 6-month EU Electoral Observation Mission in Colombia in 2022.
